Holly Gooch

Holly Gooch is a woman on a mission to open up the imaginations of Kiwis around New Zealand just a little bit wider.  She writes contemporary stories and songs that appeal to the cheeky side of children and adults alike.  She performs them to audiences in libraries, schools and festivals around the country. In her shows the audience might see (or be involved in!) singing, dancing, yoga and pilates – for starters.  Holly is also passionate about innovative thinking and teaches workshops for creativity, imagination and creative writing.  Her first book of short stories for older children will be published and launched in 2012.

Holly is a qualified teacher, has trained with the International School of Storytelling and is currently studying psychology with a focus on creativity.  She has had three of her stories published by educational publisher Giltedge Publishing and has won awards in competitions for her lyrics, poetry and short stories.  Holly has also dabbled in playwriting, stand-up comedy and Pataka’s box art show.  She has lived in Titahi Bay with her family since the birth of her first son nine years ago.
